What's The DV Shop All About?
The DV Shop is an authorized Apple Dealer specializing in HD Video and Digital Photography. We cover everything from shooting to editing solutions, including Apple computers, cameras, and a large selection of peripherals and accessories for video production, DSLR filmmaking, lighting, audio, post-production equipment and media storage. We're also authorized dealers for Panasonic, Sony, Nikon and Canon, to name just a few of the brands we carry.
When the DV Shop opened in May 2001, we began as a store dedicated to and focused on digital video production, offering equipment for both shooting and editing. In recent years, the digital revolution has changed both filmmaking and photography. Since many of our customers are both filmmakers and photographers, the DV Shop expanded its focus to include digital photography equipment adding Canon, Nikon Sony and Panasonic DSLRs with both photo and DSLR filmmaking accessories to the product lines we carry.
At the DV Shop we try to offer an alternative to the high pressure big box retail model. Our store is a small boutique style environment where customers can come in and look at display models of products in a relaxed, no-pressure atmosphere. We try to mirror that environment as much as possible online for our mail-order customers. We're here to answer questions and offer you the information you need to make your own purchasing decisions. We've also tried to make our website as simple as possible for those customers who are viewing it on tablets, PDAs and cell phones. We try to update our website as often as possible when inventory changes but it's always a good idea to call ahead and check stock before you come down to the store.
If you live outside Toronto or can't get down to our store, we offer same day shipping in Canada for items in stock if we get the order by 3pm. Learn more about ordering here.

Navigating The Website
The tabs at the top of every page lead to a category page. Underlined words are clickable links, for example, Index takes you to a sitemap listing of our products. To get back to the front page just click on our logo image at the top of every page.
Floor Models On Display:
We try to have display models on hand of most everything we sell so that customers can come in the store and see the products they want to buy. Online reviews are great but there's nothing quite like holding a product in your hands and trying it out to make sure it really works for you. When we sell our floor display models we place those listings in our Sale Clearance section here or you can join our Sales Blast to get email updates here.
What About Leasing?
We don't do leasing ourselves but most of our customers use Equilease for their financing needs and we recommend them.
Who Are Your Customers?
Our customers run the gamut from freelance producers to independent filmmakers to production companies to broadcasters, educators, hospitals, military, police, ambulance and fire service video units, government agencies, legal videographers, professional photographers, serious amateurs and the list is expanding all the time.
How Do We Find Out What's New?
DV Shop is on FaceBook here and our Twitter feed is here and we'll be posting news as it comes in. We recently moved our store after 10 years in the Junction. You can learn about our new location here
Join our salesblast mailing list to get occasional updates on new products and sale specials.
Do You Take Trade-ins or Sell Used Equipment?
No, we only sell new equipment but if you are trying to sell something you can post an ad in the Toronto Film & Video Forum which has over 300 members here.
Do You Do Rentals?
No but you can find listings for companies that do various types of rentals at Chuck's Film & Video Directory.
What Is Your Return Policy?
You can read it here.
Recycling
At the DV Shop we try to keep our waste to a minimum so if you're one of our mail order customers you may have noticed that we recycle all the boxes and packing material we get from our suppliers. Sometimes we even get that recycled packing back when our customers send us packages. If you live in the Greater Toronto area and you ever need packing paper and boxes for your next big move give us a call. We've supplied many of our customers with recycled packing material.
We send any usable but outdated computer recycling to reBOOT Canada in Toronto. You can also check out iRecycle for your electronics recycling needs. They host free recycling through their "inorganic market" events.
